Grant, born and raised in Lubbock, Texas, always enjoys problem solving. Grant began studying Plant and Soil Science at the Texas Tech University and expected to pursue a career in agriculture. Grant took the plunge into law, however, and has not looked back – except with great fondness for chapter 12 bankruptcy cases and litigation growing from farms and ranches. Attending Texas Tech University School of Law, Grant graduated in the top 10% of his class. While in law school, Grant enjoyed tutoring first year students in property, and serving as a teaching assistant for Wills and Trusts.
Immediately following law school, Grant clerked for two separate bankruptcy judges: Judge Robert L. Jones in the Northern District of Texas and Judge Scott H. Yun in the Central District of California. Clerking in two separate bankruptcy courts allowed Grant the opportunity to observe how different, and important, procedural and substantive differences are between courts. Grant applies his clerkship experience regularly to determine the best approach to any given problem.
